The Test movie is a sports drama thriller written and directed by S Sashikanth. The film features R Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth as the leads. Renowned actress Meera Jasmine has a significant part in the movie as well. Under the YNOT Studios banner, Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth are producing the movie. (ads)

The movie TEST, by S Sasikanth, starring R Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth in the main parts, will debut on Netflix on 4 April 2025. Three lives that are interwoven on and off the cricket field are the subject of the movie, which also follows their forced choices that permanently alter their surroundings. The movie is the first original Tamil release from Netflix this year.

With YNOT Studios' support, producer Sashikanth is also making his directorial debut with Test, his first time behind the camera. Sashikanth claims that it was incredibly thrilling to take on the role of director for Test after years of developing storylines as a producer. Resilience, the weight of decisions, and how life becomes the greatest test of all are the themes of the movie, he says, adding that it was made even more memorable by the first time that three powerful actors—Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth came together. He went on to say that he is incredibly appreciative of Netflix, YNOT Studios, and his amazing team for making this vision a reality.

According to Netflix India Vice President Content Monika Shergill, Test is a drama thriller that conveys a profound narrative. The film is an emotional rollercoaster that takes the lives of a national-level cricket player, a talented scientist, and an enthusiastic teacher on a collision course, testing their courage, desire, and sacrifice. It is set against the backdrop of high-profile cricket. Director S Sashikanth skillfully tells a story that captivates the audience until the very end, she stated, adding a new and confident directorial voice. They can't wait to introduce 'Test' to audiences in India and other countries, she continues.
