Synopsis

In Vinodayathra, a young guy who dislikes responsibility is told the tale of how he may be very impetuous in helping people in need and can get into difficulty. The movie narrates the tale of Vinod, an MCA holder who views life as a pleasure journey. Having no specific life objectives and a lofty set of ideals devoid of application, he merely seeks out white-collar professions where the least amount of pressure is involved. He has always been a vagabond, taking on odd occupations. His father, a retired postmaster, sends Vinod to his sister Vimala and brother-in-law Shaji Raghavan, a "Mr. Nice Guy" who works as the chief engineer in the irrigation department, as his final resort to get him to change his foolish ways, in a attempt to instill some reason into his brain.
Since Vinod's younger sister, Reshmi, a college student, also lives with them, Shaji has some issues with Vinod's arrival. The first half of the movie moves slowly yet with energy, up until Vinod rescues Anupama from a perilous position in a train station. Due to his impetuous behavior, Vinod gets into a lot of difficulty again. Her father, a police constable, was severely hurt in an altercation with several agitators, forcing the engineering student to leave school. Vinod meets Anupama by coincidence, and she quickly makes an impact on him that transforms him into a better, more responsible person.
