Mothathi Kozhappa is a Malayalam comedy-drama movie directed by Sony P Jose. Features newcomers Sony, Sneha Unnikrishnan, Sushanth, and Ratheesh along with a handful of stars including TS Raju, Naseer Sankranthy, Sunil Sukhada, Rajesh Sharma, Molly Kannamally, Kottayam Pradeep, Kalyani Nair. The movie Mothathi Kozhappa is produced under the banner of Manmiyas Productions. The script for the film Mothathi Kozhappa was written by Vipin Lal and the director Sony P Jose jointly.

The cinematography of the film is handled by Rajeev Madhavan and Anoop Muthikkavil and the editor is Kiran Vijayan. The chief associate of the film is CP Jomon and the associate directors are Subramanyan CR and Syam Prem.

Anu, Vinayan, and several characters related to them get into trouble when a decent and innocent character from Panchagula near Punjab comes between the central characters Anu and Vinayan. The quest for the heritage property surrounded by myths of the troubled Veerapandya is presented humorously. The story begins in a village surrounded by the Sahyaparvata ranges of south Travancore and then extends to the hinterlands of Tamil Nadu.

In the film, a group of peculiar people live in the scenic village of Vlathankara, which is situated in the southernmost part of Kerala's Travancore district. When a character from Panchkula, Punjab, shows up and starts to get entangled in their personal and professional lives, along with the complex network of myths and hilarious cross-border journeys that go along with it, their lives take an unexpected turn.

Jagathy Sreekumar performed the title launch of the film directed by debutant Sony with newcomers in lead roles. The title was launched at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram. The name of the film is "Mothathi Kozhappa". The film has been shot in places like Kozhikode, Munnar, Vagamon, Thiruvananthapuram, Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, etc.

The music for the film is composed by Satish Vishwa with lyrics penned by Poovachal Khader. This is also the last film in which Poovachal Khader wrote and sung by Vidhu Prathap, Jyotsna Radhakrishnan, and Anwar Sadat.
