Janapriya Naayakan Dileep's Thankamani is produced by two giant banners in South India
Manoj Pillai handled the cinematography of the Idukki Thankamani incident, which rocked Kerala's conscience edited by Shyam Sasidharan. The executive producer of the film is Sujith J Nair. The chief associate director of the film is Manesh Balakrishnan. The big-budget film Thankamani is also unique in that it has fight scenes arranged by four famous South Indian fight masters Rajasekhar, Stun Siva, Supreme Sundar, and Mafia Sasi.
After the super hit film 'Udal' starring popular hero Dileep, the official video song of Ratheesh Reghunandan's emotional family drama film "Thankamani" was released on 26 February 2024. The release featured the opening song "Kaathileeran Pattu Moolum" sung by V Devanand and Mridula Warrier with music composed by William Francis with lyrics penned by BT Anilkumar.

The title of Dileep's 148th film "Thankamani" was declared on 4th September 2023 with the tagline "The Bleeding Village". The shooting of the film started on 28th January 2023 at the Kottayam CMS College with around 500 junior artists and the filming was completed in Erattupetta, Poonjar, Kanjirappally, Koottickal, Kuttikkanam, Peermade and Kattappana. Art director Manu Jagadh has prepared a huge set on two and a half acres of land near Kattappana to shoot some important scenes in the second schedule. Some scenes involving a thousand junior artists were shot on this set in fifteen days.
This is the 97th film of Super Good Films which has produced around 96 films in various languages including Hindi. Godfather, the Telugu remake of Lucifer starring Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan, was recently produced by Super Good Films. This Dileep film will be the 18th film of IFFAAR Media, which has released many foreign language films in Kerala and produced many Malayalam films. After Suresh Gopi-Joshi's 2022 blockbuster 'Pappan', it will be Dileep's 148th film produced by Iffaar Media. This is the 148th film of Dileep's acting career.
Pranitha Subhash, who has starred as the heroine of stars like Surya, Karthi, Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, and Upendra Rao, is also acting in Malayalam for the first time.
The film's launch event and the switch-on ceremony were held on 27th January 2023 at Ernakulam Crowne Plaza Hotel in a grand hall. The event was graced by director Joshiy by lighting the Bhadradeepam and was attended by many celebrities from the Malayalam film industry. The son of producer RB Choudary and a young star of Tamil cinema Jeeva did the switch-on and producer Rafi Mathira clapped first. Apart from popular hero Dileep's heroines Neeta Pillai and Pranitha Subhash, other stars and crew members of the film attended the event. The names of the main actors and technical staff of the film, which has a huge star cast, were announced at the event.
The film started shooting on 28th January 2023 at Kottayam CMS College with around 500 junior artists. The first schedule of Dileep's 148th film has been completed with forty days of shooting in Kottayam and Kuttikkanam on 8th March 2023. Ajmal Ameer, Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, Kottayam Ramesh, Major Ravi, Santhosh Keezhatoor, Thomman Mankuva, Remya Panicker, Muktha, Sivakami, along with other Tamil actors John Vijay and Sampath Ram participated in the first schedule shoot. The first scheduled filming locations include Erattupetta, Poonjar, Kanjirappally, Koottickal, Kuttikkanam, and Peermade. The next schedule will start from the last week of March in Kattappana and surrounding areas. This fifty-day schedule is depicted as a period of abstinence. Art director Manu Jagadh is preparing a huge set on two and a half acres of land near Kattappana to shoot the second schedule. Some of the important scenes of the film will be shot on this set in fifteen days, with around a thousand junior artists lined up. In the second schedule, a fifty-day shoot is planned in different areas of Idukki. Apart from the first scheduled stars, other leading actresses also act in this schedule.
The music for the film 'Thankamani' is composed by William Francis with the lyrics of BT Anil Kumar.
Thankamani movie was released in theaters by Dream Big Films after legal battles on March 7, 2024. The Malayalam film Thankamani will be premiered soon on Saina Play Ott.

Synopsis
The narrative opens with the death of an Idukki-based communist party leader, and the police are at a loss as to who killed him or why. Under the direction of Commissioner Arpitha of the City Police, some of the clues point to a possible connection between this murder and another that occurred in 1986 in Idukki's Thankamani.
