Dulquer Salmaan starred Bollywood movie Chup: Revenge of the Artist had claimed a positive response and appreciation from both the audience and the critics. Dulquer was also very well accepted by all for his excellent performance in the negative shaded role. Now the hero who won the hearts of the audience with his negative role in Chup won the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award for his excellent performance. This award for Dulquer Salmaan, who grew up to be a Pan-Indian superstar, is also a proud moment for Malayalees. Dulquer is the first Mollywood actor to receive Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

The psychological thriller Chup was written and directed by R Balki. Sunny Deol played another lead role in the film. Chup: Revenge of the Artist was Dulquer's third Bollywood movie. In the film, Dulquer plays a mysterious character named Dani, who earns a living by farming flowers. Director R Balki had said earlier that he had decided to portray Dani as someone who has no image consciousness in the eyes of the audience. Chup's first shows, which adopted different promotion methods, were prepared by the crew to allow the common audience to watch and evaluate. Chup was distributed in Kerala by Wayfarer Films of the actor Dulquer Salmaan. The streaming of the film is booming on the Zee5 OTT platform as well with great audience support.
