Director Vidya Mukundan, who is also a writer, received a fellowship on "History of Costume Design in Malayalam Cinema" from Kerala State Film Academy in 2020 and a certificate course in Fundamentals in Film Direction from Pune Film Institute. Vidya Mukundan has scripted and directed the music albums "Niram Maranna Shalabham" and "Sammohanam" and the short film "Reassure". A collection of poems has been published under the name "Njanariyathe". For the first time in Kerala, gender-neutral uniforms were designed for government schools. "Dark Shades of a Secret" is the first movie scripted and directed by Vidya Mukundan, who has done costumes for commercials and TV programs and worked as a stylist for Asianet News.

The first look poster of the film "Dark Shades of Secret" directed by Vidya Mukundan has been released on 1^st February 2023 and the title was designed by Haridas Nareeckal. Actor Rajeevan Vellur released the second poster of the film "Dark Shades of a Secret" on 9^th February 2023.

The music for the film Dark Shades of Secret is composed by Vineesh Mani and KJ Sreeraj with the lyrics of Joy Thamalam and Anil Thalikulam. The singers are Resmi Sateesh and Manikandan Perumpadappu.

The censorship of "Dark Shades of a Secret" is complete and granted a "UA" certificate and released in theaters on June 2^nd of 2023.
