Malikappuram Malayalam movie is directed by debutant Vishnu Sasi Shankar. Features Unni Mukundan in Malikappuram as the lead character. The movie Malikappuram is produced by two leading production companies in Mollywood. Priya Venu's Kavya Film Company in association with Neeta Pinto's Aan Mega Media. Director Vishnu himself did the editing of the film. The story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film were written by Abhilash Pillai after the blockbusters Pathaam Valavu, Night Drive, and Cadaver. Apart from Unni Mukundan, Indrans, Manoj K Jayan, Saiju Kurup, Ramesh Pisharody, Sampath Ram, Sreepath, Devananda the titular character Malikappuram and Alphy Panjikaran are also playing important roles in the movie. The chief associate director for the film Malikappuram is Rejis Antony and the creative director is Shamzu Zayba.

The movie 'Malikappuram' tells the story of eight-year-old Kalyani and her superhero Ayyappan.

Director Vishnu Sasi Shankar is the son of famous director Sasi Shankar, who is familiar with movies like Naaraayam, Kunjikoonan, Mr. Butler, and Manthra Mothiram. Mallu Singh and Mamangam are the two big films that marked the turning point in Unni Mukundan's film career. Mallu Singh was produced by Anto Joseph and Venu Kunnappilly the producer of Mamangam. This film Malikappuram also has the distinction of Unni Mukundan as the hero in their joint venture.

The shooting of the Pan-Indian film 'Malikappuram' is progressing in and around Sabarimala. Members of the Pandalam royal family visited the location during the filming.

The first look poster of the film 'Malikappuram' was released on the occasion of actor Unni Mukundan's birthday on 22^nd September 2022. The poster has been unveiled with child actors Sreepath and Devananda, who play the lead roles in the film, holding hands. Unni and the children are dressed as going on a pilgrimage in Sabarimala.

The Music and Background Music for the film Malikappuram is composed by Ranjin Raj with the lyrics by Santhosh Varma and BK Harinarayanan.

Synopsis

Malikappuram Kallu is the subject of the movie, as suggested by the title. Kallu has grown to love Lord Ayyappa via the bedtime tales told by her grandmother, and she has been pleading with her father to take her to Sabarimala. Her father, Ajayan, eventually consented to take her to Sabarimala after numerous appeals. But due to a series of terrible incidents, Kallu ultimately made the decision to travel alone to Sabarimala with her best friend Piyush. What we observe at Malikappuram is the two children's eventful adventure.
