Laabam movie is directed by National Award winner SP Jhananathan. Features Vijay Sethupathi in a double role in Laabam with Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu as the lead characters. Sai Dhanshika, Kalaiyarasan, Ramesh Thilak, Prithvi Rajan, Daniel Annie Pope, Nitish Veera, and Jai Varman are the other main stars of the film.

Vijay Sethupathi's "Laabam", has shocked the audience with its look and feel. Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan will play the role of Pakkiri, a farmer leader and a social activist in Laabham, and Shruti plays a stage performer named Shree Ranjani. Vijay Sethupathi and Jhananathan both have previously worked together in the film Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai in 2015. SP Jhananathan is a notable director with the films Iyarkai and Peranmai.

The music for the film Laabam is composed by D Imman with the lyrics by Yugabharathi and Muthulingam, and the dance is choreographed by Kalyan, Cool Jayanth, Nagendra Prasad, and Eshwar Babu.

Laabam movie is set to release on September 23^rd of 2022 in Kerala, distributed by Venkateswara Films, RG Films, Sanha Arts Release, and Jayam Pictures.
