Dhoomam Malayalam movie is scripted and directed by Pawan Kumar, who directed the films 2013 Lucia, 2016 U-Turn, and Kudi Yedamaithe. Features Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali as the lead characters in Dhoomam with Roshan Mathew, Vineeth Radhakrishnan, Anu Mohan, and Achyuth Kumar. The movie Dhoomam is produced by Vijay Kirgandur under the banner of Hombale Films. Eminent cinematographer Preetha Jayaraman handles the camera.

Dhoomam will be Hombale Films' second film in Mollywood after the earlier announced Tyson. The crew has indicated that Dhoomam will be a big-budget film with leading actors and technicians lined up and announced soon.

Hombale Films, the producers of the super hit film KGF, announced the film Dhoomam featuring Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali on 30^th September 2022. The first look poster of the film titled Dhoomam was released through Hombale Films' Twitter page.

The film Dhoomam began shooting on 9^th October 2022 and wrapped on 13^th January 2023.

Producer Vijay Kirgandur has said that

Fahadh will play a mass role in Dhoomam, which presents a new theme. He said that there is no doubt that the combination of two leading stars Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali will create magic on the big screen.

The music director for the film Dhoomam is Poornachandra Tejaswi.

Dhoomam was released in theaters on June 23, 2023 in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu languages. The heart-pumping ride with Dhoomam by Phars Film overseas release. The film Dhoomam which is slated to release in the Summer of 2023 postponed. The Malayalam film Dhoomam is streaming soon on Amazon Prime Video.

Synopsis

The protagonist of the film is Avinash, a man who worked in the marketing department of a major tobacco firm. The couple was attacked by a stranger one day as he was driving home after picking up his wife, Diya, and the next morning they both awoke in a remote area. Avinash received this call from the stranger begging for money when Diya was unconscious. Who is this unidentified man, why is he requesting money from them, and what threat does he make that is compelling Avinash to comply with whatever he demands? At Fahadh Faasil Dhoomam, we witness this.
