Thirty newcomers, including the hero and heroine, will be introduced in the cinema. The film also features a group of college teachers, including renowned environmental activist Prof. Sobhindran, in notable roles. Sobhindra's son Dhyan Dev also plays an important role in the film.
Director Vaishakh Jojan is also a teacher. The critically acclaimed short film 'Kili' was written and directed by Vaishakh in 2016. Many stories of Vaishakh Jojan have been aired on All India Radio, Kozhikode. Director also published two books "Gulikan" and "Enthanu Cinema", a film encyclopedia.
Filming for the movie started in 2019 itself but floods in Kerala and Covid hampered the shooting. The major locations are Ooty, Nilambur, Wayanad, and Kozhikode. Seventy percent of the work was completed before the first lockdown in Kerala. But the year-long Covid period slowed down the process. Many students and teachers from Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, College Of Applied Science Thamarassery, and St. Joseph’s College Devagiri, Kozhikode have been part of the cinema.
Koora movie was released on September 9th of 2021 through the OTT platforms Nee Stream and Saina Play globally.
