The movie Paka is produced by Anurag Kashyap, Raj R of Studio 99 Films and the executive producer is Nithin Lukose of Alif Talkies Productions.

The film was selected in the Discovery category at the 46^th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film received a world premiere. The Discovery section will feature a second film by a debutant director and other directors. The film is selected for the Toronto Festival after 'Moothon' and 'Jallikattu'.

Director Nithin Lukose is an alumnus of Pune Film Institute and sound engineer for several films, including the notable 2019 film 'Ambili'. Since graduating from the Pune Film Institute, he has worked as a sound engineer in over 25 films, including Hollywood films.

The theme of the film is the immigrant history of Wayanad and the age-old hatred. Orappu, a rural village in Wayanad is the main location of the movie, Nidhin's hometown is Wayanad.

Paka movie was released on July 7^th of 2022 through SonyLIV as an OTT release.

Synopsis

The film "Paka" concentrate on two families who have been killing each other for generations and is situated in the Wayanad region. Anna and Johnny belonged to these families, who loved one another and desired peace. But things turned an unexpected turn when Johnny's jailed uncle returned. In the movie, Paka shows how his reappearance upsets the balance between the families and how it affects Anna and Johnny's strategy.
