Aarattu Malayalam action comedy movie directed by B Unnikrishnan with the screenplay and dialogues written by Udayakrishna. The entire title of the movie is 'Neyyattinkara Gopante Aaraattu'. Features Mohanlal as Neyyattinkara Gopan and Shraddha Srinath as the female lead as IAS officer. The movie also stars Vijayaraghavan, Saikumar, Siddique, Johny Antony, Nandu, Kottayam Ramesh, Indrans, Sivaji Guruvayoor, Kochupreman, Prashanth Alexander, Ashwin, Lukman, Anoop Davis, Ravikumar, Garuda Raman, Prabhakar, Rachana Narayanankutty, Swasika, Malavika Menon, Neha Saxena, and Seetha. Ramachandra Raju, who got attention through his role as 'Garuda' in KGF, plays another notable character in the movie. Aarattu movie is produced by RD Illuminations in association with Hippo Prime Pictures and the MPM Group.

Actor Mohanlal and writer Udayakrishna are teaming up again after the 2016 super hit movie Pulimurugan.

The theme of the film is that Gopan arrives at a village in Palakkad from Neyyattinkara with a special purpose. Subsequent events are the theme of the film.

The official trailer of the movie Aaraattu was released on 4^th February 2022 by Saina Movies.

Apart from Palakkad, parts of the film are also being shot in Hyderabad.

Rahul Raj composes the music with lyrics by BK Harinarayanan, Rajeev Govindan, Fejo, and Nikesh Chembilode. Sound Mixing by Vishnu Sujathan and Sound Designed by Sankaran AS and KC Siddharthan.

The “Onnam Kandam” official video song has been released on 19^th February 2022 through Saina Music. The song is composed by Rahul Raj with lyrics by Rajeev Govindan. And the song is sung by Swetha Ashok, Narayani Gopan, Yasin Nizar, Mithun Jayaraj, Aswin Vijayan, and Rajkumar Radhakrishnan.

Aaraattu movie was released in cinemas on February 18^th of 2022. The movie Aaraattu digital premiere thru Amazon Prime Video on 20^th March 2022.

Synopsis

The story takes place in this Palakkad hamlet, where the Panchayat wants to promote farming. However, a powerful family that owns the large majority of the Panchayat's farms was opposed. When the Panchayat decided to pursue legal action against them, the family sought assistance from a third party. Neyyattinkara Gopan enters the picture at this point.
