Marakkar - Arabikadalinte Simham is a Malayalam period movie is set in the 16th century. Along with Mohanlal as the title character Kunjali Marakkar, Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Keerthy Suresh, Mukesh, Siddique, and Nedumudi Venu in supporting roles.

The film is produced with a budget of Rs 100 crore. The major locations of the movie are Vagamon, Hyderabad, Badmi, and Rameshwaram.

Marakkar - Arabikkasalinte Simham selected as the Best Feature Film, awarded Swarna Kamal and Rs. 2,50,000 each for the producer and the director at the National Film Awards. Best Costume Designer award shared by Sujith Sudhakaran and V Sai won Rajat Kamal and Rs.50,000/- for both of them. Best Special Effects awarded for Siddharth Priyadarshan and won Rajat Kamal and Rs. 50,000/-

The theme music was released by Saina Music on 16^th November 2021. Mohanlal released the theme music through his Facebook page. The soundtrack of the music is done by Rahul Raj.

Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham movie was released worldwide in theaters on December 2^nd of 2021. Marakkar movie will be digital premiere on 17^th December 2021 on Prime Video. Apart from Malayalam, the movie will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. Earlier the release is planned for August 12^th of 2021. Initially planned for a theater release on 26^th March 2020 and rescheduled due to covid19 pandemic. Afterward, schedule for May 13^th of 2021 and postponed due to lockdown.

Synopsis

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is a biopic of a genuine person who is viewed as one of the best maritime heads of India. Set in the late fifteenth century and mid-sixteenth century, the film depends on the narrative of the dauntless sailor of the Malabar Coast, Kunjali Marakkar, who later turned into the maritime administrator of the Zamorin (Samoothiri), the Ruler of Calicut, and crushed the Portuguese in a maritime fight. The story revolves around Kunjali Marakkar the fourth (Mohammed Ali).
The film has been adjusted from different books and composed texts about Kunjali Marakkar and is a richly mounted period show.
